Last Saturday...

we took the boys to the PNE. They had so much fun and Jack was FINALLY tall enough (last year they raised the height requirements making him still to short!), thanks to a one week growth spurt, to go on the bigger rides. Seriously! A week earlier when we took them he wasn't. [sidebar: we like to go opening day to save on the admission cost and the rides are usually free until noon, except this year they weren't and we had to leave early for a birthday party even though they didn't get to go on one ride (we were too busy seeing everything else and the lines were so long) so we said we'd take them again just to ride the rides!)] However all during the week, he was eating and sleeping, eating and sleeping! I clued into this and just thought to measure him before we left the house and sure enough, he was just 48". Here's some pictures, and of course you can see more if you click on the link to the right "Photo Albums"...

Scott and Jack on the bumper cars...

George was very interested in this pig until it "oinked" at him...then he didn't like that at all. It scared him and he started crying!

George playing his first and only game.

George enjoying his first mini donut ever...afterall, they are a "must have" when you go to the PNE. ;)

Ok, ok, so,

I just might not be able to update everyday. Not yet anyway. Things are far too busy right now with the boys still being out of school. However that will change as of Tuesday. "It's the most wonderful time of the year..." as they say in the Staples commercials, is fast approaching. We just purchased their school supplies and they are "thrilled" that they now have a gold and silver pencil crayon. Those colors are new I guess and go figure, we had to go the next day and buy Scott the same package we bought Jack, just so that he would have them! Nevermind the fact that I bought him a 48 pack and Jack the 24 + silver & gold package. And I didn't even know it had those two extras until we got home. Oh well...my fault for mentioning it and what's $1.69 when it makes a kid happy anyways? They also got new lunchboxes too so hopefully I won't have too much trouble fitting all their food in anymore. And thankfully, we were able to steer them away from the "commercial" ones. These are just plain ole Thermos ones and will hopefully last them longer than what their current ones did. So aside from getting a few new clothes, they're ready! At least I think they are. And god, please have Scott's school have a grade 3/4 split so he doesn' t have the same ditzy teacher he had last year! (Long story behind that one!) ;)

The boys had swimming today. They've been swimming everyday for the past 2 weeks and it was a beautiful day outside too! It was their last class and while Jack passed, Scott did not although he did really well too. This was Scott's first time taking Level 5 and children usually do not pass the first time after switching to a new level so we weren't too surprised. He's finished swimming for the year now because soccer will be starting in a few weeks and that keeps him busy enough.

I wasn't too sure if Jack was going to pass or not. Sometimes it's a bit iffy and even though this was Jack's second round of swimming lessons this summer...this level was different. He was in Level 1 for his first set...and then at registration time for this second set, they suggested putting him into something called Salamander. This enabled me to have them swim close together (timing wise) and because the "name levels" are for children between the ages of 3-6, he still "qualified". As well, the Salamander level apparently gives them a jump start since it sort of is Level 2. Confusing I know!

SO anyways, Jack I think will swim another set of lessons in an indoor pool since he doesn' t have any other activities planned. The questions is...Will he be in Level 2 or Sunfish? I'll keep you posted. And at Sam's suggestion, I guess we're off to Dairy Queen tonight to celebrate their progress! Apparently they're going to be allowed to order anything they want...this should be interesting!

p.s. I forgot to mention that Jack also went off the diving board! It was his first time and he did great! And to no surprise, Scott did as well ;) He's a pro though since he's been going off of it since he was 3! :)

Here it is...

a space for the happenings of our three boys. They are such busy little guys and I thought it was time to keep up with the pace and write about each one everyday. Or at least try! The kids are growing so fast so my goal for this blog is to have a place where friends and family can come and see their progress. A place they can see what's going on...achievements and all. I hope to have pictures and videos on here as well so stay tuned. Because as soon as I figure out how to post them, they'll be here. ;)
